Founded in 1899, the club and course enjoy a backdrop more reminiscent of the Swiss Alps than Central Scotland. Indeed, this was confirmed when, on 20th June 1879 while passing by train, Queen Victoria described Tillicoultry as “lying in a wooded green valley at the foot of the Ochil hills, reminding me of Italy and Switzerland”. The course itself is visually stunning, with magnificent views, some taxing golf and a fiercely proud reputation as a friendly welcoming club, Tillicoultry Golf Club, is a must for the keen amateur (and not so amateur) golfer.
Golf course architect James Braid designed a 6,266-yard par 71 course on the 150 acres of rolling parkland beneath the Ochil Hills that are Alloa Golf Club’s home. A test for even the most seasoned golfer, Alloa also accommodates high handicappers.
All golfers will enjoy the final four holes: two long par 3s split by two long and extremely challenging par 4s. Make sure to keep an eye out for the ditch in front of the 17^th green.
Alloa Golf Club dates back to 1935. It was built on the estate of Schawpark House. One of the most influential families in medieval Scotland, the Schaws were governors of Stirling Castle until the reign of James IV.
Muckhart Golf Club is located at the foot of the Ochill Hills in central Scotland. This central location means we are no more than an hours’ drive away for most Scottish golfers and close to Gleneagles.
A great attraction at Muckhart is that we offer 27 holes of golf on our three nine hole courses – Cowden, Naemoor and Arndean. This means that you can almost always get a round of golf and can play 27 different holes in one day. During the year we host many visiting parties and casual visitors are always welcome.

Braehead Golf Club is one of Scotland’s hidden gems. Always well manicured and presented in excellent condition, this Parkland Course offers a wide variety of challenging holes. The Course is set amid some of Scotland’s finest scenery with panoramic views of the Ochil Hills, Stirling Castle and The Wallace Monument. On a clear day the views include Ben Lomond and the distant mountains of Perthshire.
The Course itself at 6053 yards is not long by modern standards but the variety of terrain provides some interesting and challenging par fours. The 204 yard fourteenth is a signature hole and is surely one of the most picturesque par threes to be found in Central Scotland.

Alva Golf Club is situated at the foot of the Ochil Hills. A challenging course with spectactular views in all directions.
Over one hundred years old, Dollar is typical of the Scottish village golf courses. Set out by Ben Sayers on the slopes of the Ochils it is unusual in that, dictated by the terrain, there are no bunkers. The signature hole is the Second which is only 97 yards long but it is a blind shot to an elevated green where failure to get up will likely cost you. A short course built before the days of modern technology it is, nevertheless, a fair challenge. Hilly and testing, every shot requires careful thought. A burn features on some seven holes, there are decisions to be made on the tee and every shot has to be played with terrain and the vagaries of Scottish weather in mind. Let those who want to play their target golf play it, this is the traditional variety!
Founded in 1902, Tulliallan Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs in Central Scotland and is set in woodland adjacent to the Tulliallan Estate with scenic views of the River Forth, Ochil Hills and the Forth Valley.
Tulliallan Golf Course offers a challenging test of golf, requiring accurate shots in order to score well. Thanks to its excellent drainage, Tulliallan Golf Course is rarely closed. Temporary greens are seldom used and they try to keep playing the full course with normal greens for 52 weeks of the year.
